Dear Partner,
We're excited to share this MedTreks report with you, highlighting the impact of your contributions!
HopeCore, in partnership with the MedTreks Kenya program, hosted 11 students and two faculty members from the University of San Francisco (USF) in January 2024.
These nurse practitioner students started their visit with an orientation to Global Medicine and Child Maternal Health in Kenya. After being introduced to the health challenges faced by mothers and children in Kenya, the students learned about how economic empowerment initiatives, like HopeCore's loan programs, contribute to improved health outcomes. Here, they saw firsthand the businesses villagers are creating and expanding thanks to loans from HopeCore.
Throughout their stay, they participated in these activities:
The health fair event - at Ikumbo Primary School - was very successful. This event focused on children under 5 and expectant mothers attending antenatal care (ANC). Here's a snapshot of the impact these nurses made during this trip:
HopeCore is grateful for the dedication and passion of our MedTreks participants. Thank you! Let's keep making a difference together in 2024!
With gratitude,
Meriba Mwende,
