My name is Djemilatou. I am 17 years old and I am in classe 1ere, with one more year to go to finish secondary school at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie. I was born in Ivory Coast. According to my grandmother, my mother died soon after my birth and my father, unable to accept the death of my mother, died four months later. I was sent to live with my grandmother in Kouri, a village near Ouahigouya.
After finishing secondary school, I hope to study medicine and specialize in gynecology. My goal is to reduce the complications and deaths associated with pregnancy and childbirth.
But before that, I must finish secondary school and receive my baccalaureate. And that is the reason why I am studying at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie. This school has the conditions necessary for successful studies. The high/strict standards and professionalism of the faculty do not allow any choice to the students but to work hard and succeed.
A very important characteristic which attracts students to the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie is the canteen. With the certainty of a noon meal, we are able to productively use the rest of our mid-day break for studying. I and my fellow students are extremely grateful for your support for our canteen which contributes to our success. Thank you!
