Spay/Neuter 700 homeless dogs in Tabio, Colombia

Dear donor and friend, 2023 comes to its end and we are pleased to announce that we fulfilled our purpose of sterilizing 400 homeless cats and dogs and place them into foster or forever homes. Let me present some of our cases, a brief summary of happy endings.

Mister Bowie was meant to be a typical lap dog, but his life as a stray was permanently in danger, because of his small size and his lack of experience to cross the roads. Today he’s a jolly boy, learning tricks and enjoying family life.

Mulán escaped from a clandestine puppy mill, famelic and heartbroken. But that was only the beginning of a new life as a princess of a fairy tale. A beautiful Siberian mix finally got the life she deserves.

Our rescue cats Felia and Juana and their 10 kittens, they all were spayed/neutered and found loving families. Only Felia decided to go back to her former life as a feral cat, in harmony with nature and her own needs.

Nacho’s task was to watch over an uninhabited farm, were he lived only with some cats, without any human contact. Being such a loving sweet guy, he decided that he deserved better and ran away. We are still looking for his human soul mate, but in the meantime he lives his best life at his foster’s.

We already shared Eva’s story. She was adopted by her foster family and nine of her puppies found wonderful families. Selena, the remaining one, hopefully will find her special person next year. The puppies completed four months in December and will be spayed/neutered in January/February.

The puppies Tamira, Mumbi and Lanka are still waiting to be adopted, but they were spayed one month ago and they are safe in their foster homes.

The twins were left on a field, when pregnancy was obvious. Their puppies were born the same day, under some bushes. A humble peasant family offered them a space in a stable, were they may stay, till we find adoptive families for everyone.

A similar story is that of Corazón and her puppies, born on the side of a street. They are all fine, though Corazón never was a very enthusiastic mother. But she is already spayed and will never repeat the same story.

Thank you for being such an important part in the lives of all these animals. Thank you for changing their destiny, for making a difference, for supporting our cause. And with your help, we are heading towards our next goal: the magic number 500!!

Dear donor and friend! There was that phone call that changed so many lives. “Two dogs abandoned on a mountain road, the female is pregnant. Can you help?” Wow. What a challenge. Automatically I agreed, but I had no idea, what we possibly could do. And there they were, two beautiful, black Lab mixes, sweet and majestic, siblings for sure, and parents of their future puppies. The male, Olafo, was adopted from the spot. A nice family found out that he is their son’s soulmate and they all left with a big smile on their faces. Finding a foster home for "Eva" (meaning “life giver”) wasn’t difficult either, I just picked the right family to ask and they took her in, without hesitating. Obviously, nobody really imagined the magnitude of that decision. When Eva finally reached the size of an enormous gym ball, she started giving birth, assisted by two vets. We celebrated each newborn, so Eva wouldn’t stop until Lucky was born, the magic number 10!!! Ten tiny blessings, strong and healthy and hungry, ready to bring more happiness into the world. We are still in awe and wonder, and Eva is such a good mother, caring and patient. Her fertile brother Olafo has already been neutered and we certainly will spay Eva as soon as she stops feeding her puppies.
