Challenge

Personal computers have simplified our life. However, many people don't realize that 70% of the world's population lack access to a computer: they don't have the opportunity to maximize their human potential through technology. Baja California Sur is a state with more than 700,000 inhabitants, of which approximately 25% attend school, in one of the 1,250 schools in the state. The average school dropout rate is 12.7% in middle school or high school. We can bring these walls down!

Solution

With your help, we are going to provide personal computing for 3,500 students in 30 schools in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, that have been denied a proper education due to lack of tools to maximize their human potential. Keepod will provide the necessary training to Teach For Mexico's PEMs, so afterwards they can teach students to learn how to use Keepod's technology in order to boost their academic performance and their openness to modern technologies.

Long-Term Impact

The infrastructure of the selected schools will benefit by providing access to the necessary equipment to cover the needs of the school community. Empowering community and enabling them to reach their full potential. The project aims to give the students access to information and didactic contents useful for their performance and knowledge, aligned with Teach For Mexico's curriculum.
