Once again Thank You for supporting our Nurses for Night Care programme.  Without your support or the support from people like you we would not be able to provide nursing care, practical help and reassurance to both patients and their families in their own homes.

The Irish Hospice Foundation was founded in 1986 and since 2006 has funded this vital night nursing service for people dying with diseases other than cancer.  Every year 71% of deaths in Ireland are caused by diseases other than cancer.  Nurses for Night Care provides professional, direct assistance to allow people to spend their final days at home.  Additionally, it provides much needed respite and support for families and carers.

Thanks to your support, so far this year 203 people and their families were helped with this service and we provided 637 nights of care free of charge.  Each night of care costs around €320 and this gives someone the choice and dignity to spend their final hours at home, with their loved ones and memories.

We are delighted to announce our Nurses for Night Care badges that have been created this year and are available on our website or in Shaws Department Stores Nationwide.

We have come a long way since our founding and it is thanks to the continued support of our donors we have been able to continue our vital work.  Our objective is to ensure that everyone who wants to die at home throughout Ireland is granted their final wish.

THANK YOU!
