One Child, One Future: Educate to Liberate

At Good Cause Foundation Uganda, we have seen firsthand how a simple contribution can become a meaningful opportunity for a child. Through the generosity of our GlobalGiving donors and partners, we have been able to provide educational materials to learners in vulnerable communities and support schools with resources that make learning more accessible.

Books, pens and other learning materials may seem simple, but for a child who does not have the basic supplies needed for school, receiving these items can bring renewed confidence and motivation to learn.

Our work has also gone beyond distributing materials. We have engaged with students, teachers and communities through educational activities, workshops and school-based initiatives designed to encourage learning and strengthen educational participation.

Impact achieved includes:

Education is one of the most important investments a community can make in its children. Yet for families facing economic hardship, the cost of school fees, learning materials and daily meals can become overwhelming.

Good Cause Foundation is working to ensure that poverty does not permanently prevent vulnerable children from pursuing their education. Through this project, children from underprivileged and underserved communities will receive support with school fees, scholastic materials and school lunch.

The project will begin by supporting children joining secondary school and will seek to accompany them throughout the six years of secondary education. The initiative will also extend to young people joining tertiary institutions for skills development and certification, helping them move from basic education toward practical qualifications.

Objectives of the Project

To expand educational opportunities for children from vulnerable and underserved communities.

To reduce school dropout by helping families meet essential education costs.

To provide learning materials that enable students to study, complete assignments and participate fully in classroom activities.

To address hunger among vulnerable learners through school lunch support, creating a more supportive environment for learning.

To promote secondary school completion by providing continued educational assistance rather than short-term support alone.

To help young people transition into tertiary education and vocational skills training, enabling them to obtain practical skills and recognized certification.

To contribute to long-term family and community development by helping children and young people gain education and skills that can improve their future opportunities.

Our vision is to see children who might otherwise be left behind remain in school, discover their abilities and continue progressing toward their goals.
