Outdoor waste research plan
Starting from this month, Pickup China has launched a joint research initiative on outdoor waste, mobilizing partners, organizations, and enterprises nationwide that are concerned about outdoor waste issues to collectively complete component analysis and brand monitoring of outdoor waste in different scenarios. This effort aims to celebrate the 54th World Environment Day. As of now, nearly 30 partners have registered, covering 18 provinces and over 20 cities across the country. Conducting systematic research on outdoor waste can deepen public, organizers, and stakeholders' understanding of the issue, thereby driving changes in relevant policies.
Keep Cleaning up
May 24th, 27 volunteers went to the beach near Hangzhou Bay in Fengxian District, Shanghai to clean up scattered outdoor trash. Through everyone's diligent efforts, a total of 82.14 kilograms of outdoor waste was collected, including 5.89 kilograms of recyclable materials. The volunteers remarked, "At first glance the beach didn't appear to have much litter, but upon closer inspection there were still many small pieces of debris," "In the future, maintaining cleanliness will require everyone's collective effort rather than just relying on cleanup activities," and "If we see less litter to begin with, that would actually be a good thing."
Organization Development
To more precisely anchor the strategic direction of institutional development and adapt to the constantly changing external environment, on May 11th, the China Team invited various partners (including public welfare organizations, enterprises, media, etc.) to conduct a highly targeted strategic planning workshop. The discussions focused on topics such as the causes of uncontrolled waste generation, effective solutions, and how to formulate reasonable goals.
