The Pickup China team has the following work progress in public education, public communication, and issue promotion in the first quarter:
On January 5th, Pickup China carried out an activity of professional innovation experience for 29 junior high school students from Luwan Middle School. In the activity, relevant contents of environmental education were also integrated, so that students can not only learn about the environmental public welfare industry, but also learn the knowledge of environmental protection.
From January 6th to 7th, Pickup China organized two rural interesting plogging activities for minor groups in Tieniu Village, Pujiang, Sichuan.
On March 23rd, Pickup China jointly carried out the Earthwalk picking-up activity. During the activity, we let everyone feel the importance of environmental protection through Q&A and group interaction, and have a more intuitive understanding of the outdoor garbage in the city.
The original environmental protection drama <Doomsday> prepared by Pick Up China for half a year began to tour for the public from last December. On January 21st, we completed the second performance and planned to continue the tour in April. On March 23rd, the video version of this drama was used as an additional screening work of the "Ordinary People" film festival, and connected with 400 online audiences in 10 cities through the form of online live streaming.
In terms of issue promotion, on January 17th, the Pickup China team participated in the plastic strategy synergy meeting workshop led by the Zero Waste Alliance in Beijing. At the meeting, we, together with partners from all over China who focus on the issue of plastic waste, discussed the position consensus on the plastic issue, the overall analysis of the reduction of plastic action, the identification of key issues and prioritized actions, strategy sharing, and the cooperative mechanism.
The next stage, we will continue to promote and support more teams to join the action network, and at the same time, carry out research on the basic situation of outdoor waste, improve professional capabilities, and continue to explore solutions to outdoor waste issue.
