Plant 40,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda

Dear Patrons,

It is our honor and pleasure to have you as partners, supporters, and donors. On behalf of Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization, I am very happy to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.

In this report, I wish to share with you the ongoing activities on the planted trees. This time we are busy doing several activities such as pruning the area properly in order to keep the trees healthy and strong, we are also removing unwanted small trees, and also as soil compaction prevents water and oxygen from infiltrating the tree’s roots, we are making sure that the soil is not compacted. We are doing mulch about 6 inches from the base of your tree so that we cannot damage our tree roots. To keep doing this and to make sure that our trees are growing well and maintenance is done regularly, we need small regular maintenance funds.

We request you to donate generously to our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work.  The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.

Note: In this report, we are sharing photos, showing trees where maintenance has been completed and others still waiting for maintenance. I would also like to share with you that on 3 lands and our five, maintenance has been completed.

We are so happy to thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.

We are so excited to share with you the progress of trees planted that are growing well ( See attached photos). Thank you very much for your generous donations through GlobalGiving to Plant 20,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda. Your donation helps ensure we can continue helping our community, so thank you!

We know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money, so we feel privileged that you chose to invest in our Rwanda forestation project. 

We’ll keep sending you an update through GlobalGiving three or four times a year to tell you about the impact you’ve made. We take this opportunity also to thank all students from Muyanza and Burega Primary school for their valuable and active participation in this forestation project. At the beginning of September, we are planning to plant additional trees,  students will participate and will play important role in the tree planting activities ( photos and videos will be shared with you.

Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary organization (RWAYDAVO) Volunteers and project workers will help in digging holes deep enough to cover the tree's root ball and to put the organic fertilizer. Then a student will be removing the root-ball from the container and place the tree in the hole and RWAYDAVO leaders will ensure that the activities are happening as planned. 

After Tree planting activities, we will fence the land because we want to protect the land in which the trees are planted from animals like goats, cows, and sheep, as well as from the disturbances caused by humans. After all these activities we will do close follow-up and maintenance.
