Olá dear donors!
How are you doing in these crazy last weeks of this crazy year? It’s certainly been a wild ride, but we’re still here, and we absolutely wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for our wonderful supporters and donors from around the world! So we want to send a great big thank you to all of you.
We couldn’t do it without you.
It’s so exciting to see that the spirit of Giving Tuesday lives on throughout the month, and we can’t begin to tell you how grateful we are for your continued support. So here’s a quick catchup of what’s going on down with the Iracambi Hummingbird Forest.
First things first. It's raining down here. A lot. Which is great for planting. So we've started planting the Hummingbird Forest! (We took the pictures in intervals between heavy rains.)
It seems there's something magic about the Hummingbird Forest. It started as a forest planted for our corporate partners in Hong Kong. Then we planted a tree for much-loved Iracambista Annie, who died far too soon. Then a hundred trees for a teacher friend in memory of a friend of hers. Seven trees for the grandchildren of a long-time friend from Colorado. And, before we knew what was happening, the Hummingbird Forest became a Forest of Memory. Remembering loved ones who have left us, and making memories for young ones as they grow. We joined a group of Atlantic Forest organizations to plant two hundred trees to honor the victims of covid19 everywhere. And this is just the beginning.
Thank you again, dear donors, for your help and we wish you moments of joy as together we head into 2021. It's been a tough year, but we're here, and the first trees are planted. If you'd like us to plant some trees in honor of someone special, please let us know!
Blesssings and much rainforest love from
The Iracambi Forestry Team
