Promote Social Impact Volunteering in Argentina

Dear friends, 

Today, we want to share the inspiring story of Jane and Roger, two volunteers from the United States who remind us that there is no age limit when it comes to creating positive change in the world. 

After retiring, Jane and Roger made a life-changing decision: to dedicate this new chapter of their lives to traveling the world while volunteering and supporting communities in need. During their journey through South America, they searched for organizations where they could truly connect with local communities and contribute in meaningful ways. 

That search is what led them to us. 

Through an email sent to international@mensajerosdelapaz.org.ar, Jane and Roger introduced themselves, shared their story, and expressed their desire to volunteer in Argentina. Soon after, we organized a video call where we presented the different projects carried out by Mensajeros de la Paz Argentina and the communities we support every day. 

During their stay, Jane and Roger participated in activities across different Mensajeros projects, sharing meaningful moments with children, older adults, caregivers, and volunteers. Here, we share a special photo from one of their days at our Day Center for Older Adults, where conversations, laughter, and companionship created unforgettable moments for everyone involved. 

At Mensajeros de la Paz, we strongly believe that volunteering is not only about helping others — it is also about transforming ourselves through human connection, shared experiences, and community engagement. 

We want to encourage people of all ages who dream of visiting Argentina and dedicating part of their time to serving others to take that step and reach out to us.

As we reflect on this past year, we are proud to share the impact of Promote Social Impact Volunteering in Argentina, an initiative that brings together people from around the world with a shared purpose: taking action for others and contributing to a more just and compassionate society. 

At Mensajeros de la Paz, our international volunteering program—Messengers of the World—aims to empower social change by engaging volunteers in projects that support the most vulnerable populations in Argentina: children, women, and older adults. Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, volunteers are encouraged to develop empathy, social awareness, and a deep commitment to social justice. 

Throughout this year, we were honored to welcome more than 30 international volunteers who participated across our different Mensajeros programs. They came from diverse countries, cultures, and backgrounds, with studies and professions either in progress or already completed. What united them all was something far more important: an enormous heart and a genuine desire to serve others. 

During their time with us, volunteers contributed to educational, social, and community-based initiatives, while also engaging in cultural exchange and personal growth. Over the course of their experience, they developed key skills such as teamwork, leadership, adaptability, communication, and project development—while forming meaningful connections with the local communities they served. 

In the times we are living in, choosing to volunteer is a powerful act. This report is first and foremost a message of recognition and celebration. We applaud every volunteer who chose empathy over indifference and action over comfort. We hope their example multiplies and inspires people of all ages around the world to get involved and become agents of positive change. 

At the same time, we want to express our deep gratitude to our donors, whose support is essential to the success of this program. Your contributions significantly enrich each volunteer’s experience—making it possible to fund cultural activities, shared meals, transportation, and improvements to the spaces where volunteers carry out their service. In many cases, donations also allow volunteers to propose and implement small improvement projects, turning ideas into concrete actions that benefit the communities directly. 

At Mensajeros de la Paz, we are incredibly proud of every volunteer who has been part of this journey and deeply thankful to every donor who believes in the power of volunteering as a tool for transformation. 

Thank you for being part of this impact. Together, we continue to build bridges, strengthen communities, and promote a culture of solidarity—one volunteer, one action, one year at a time.
