You Helped Rescue Harley!
By Paula Lucas | Founder & Executive Director

When Shelby's husband began threatening to kill Harley she knew it was time to escape Portugal. He had been abusive to her but Harley was like Shelby's baby and she feared for his life. Because of donors like you we were able to get Harley the necessary vet certifications and a pet carrier so Shelby could bring Harley home to the USA with her on the plane.
Harley is happy and safe now at Shelby's mothers' house where he has a new cat tree that "grandma" bought for him. Thank you for giving Harley a long, happy, life free of violence! The AODVC Team

You helped save Trinity!

Anna first called us in August. She had been in Ecuador for two years working for an NGO. Anna and her Border Collie, Trinity, were experiencing abuse by her boyfriend in Ecuador. It was mostly verbal abuse, but then he pushed Anna against a wall and threatened to hit her. When Trinity tried to protect Anna her boyfriend kicked Trinity and then lock her in a room without food and water. That was the final straw for Anna.
Anna had the funds to be able to come home to the USA but not the vet certificate and costs to bring Trinity home. Thanks to donations like yours, Trinity and Anna are home safe and sound and living with Anna's parents.
Here is part of an email from Anna: "You ladies are amazing! I didn't know how I was going to get out of Ecuador with Trinity. You made it possible! I can thank you enough!"
We want to thank you for helping us help victims like Anna & Trinity! The AODVC Team

You helped Bella come home!
By Paula Lucas | Founder & Executive Director

Thanks to donations like yours Bella was able to come home with her human mom Amber! We helped Amber and Bella escape Belize last month. Amber had been teaching English in Belize for two years and had adopted Bella just a few months after she arrived. She met a man, an American, in December of last year. Amber told us they had a whirlwind romance and everything was great for the first six months, then he became moody and started criticizing her.
Last month, he came home drunk and hit her. That is when Amber called us for help. We helped Amber come up with a safety plan and helped her get everything in order so she could leave and come back to the USA with Bella.
Amber is safely living at her mom and dad's house with Bella now. We can't thank you enough for helping Amber and Bella!
