Provide women and girls education in Cambodia

Dear Friend,

Thank you so much for supporting Women's Resource Center with your gift. We wanted to send you an update on our work during International Women's Month and how we are continuing to work in our community at this time.

International Women's Day was on 8th March and was such a fun day for our community to celebrate together. Almost 100 people came including students, families and children. We shared our acheivements over the last year (see our annual report attached), held a fashion show for the children and women to get involved in and enjoy, shared edication around gender rights and shared some clothes that have been donated. What a great day - we hope you enjoy the attached photos.

As March rolled on physical distancing became implemented due to COVID19 and we were forced to close our doors to the public, and advise the staff team to work from home. Despite these challenges our team are more determined than ever to support the women and families that we work with and have been phoning those who need support to check on them, giving out emergency parcels of food and hygiene supplies (photos attached) and working on a series of short online workshops to ensure we are still delivering informaiton about positive parenting, financial lteracy, womens rights and gender, women's health and other topics that the community need at this time. We are staying positive, finding ways to deliver our mission and hope you are too! 

Thank you for your support, it really makes a difference and allows us to keep supporting our community, even in difficult circmstances.

Thank you so much for your support in 2019, yu have helped us achieve so much....

2019 was a year of achievement and growth for WRC and our participants. As we dive into 2020, we'd love to take a minute to look back on some of the most memorable moments and key success highlights of 2019.

• 91 people successfully completed our financial management workshop
• 88 people successfully completed our Women’s Rights and Gender workshop
•  65 people successfully completed our Women’s Health workshop.
•  80 people came out to our annual reflection day to discuss what they’ve achieved since the workshops and how the new skills and information has improved their lives
• 1,179 rural community members were reached through 8 Ambassador Talks.
• We held four school forums about gender-based violence and drug and alcohol awareness, reaching 465 students.
• We celebrated International Women’s Day with 189 people who attended our event.
•  Close to 200 people came out to our Football Match for Unity.

... and that's only a snapshot of our 2019 highlights! Our annual report is coming so on with a comprehensive outline of 2019 and how we will use these experiences to make 2020 an even better year. 

 Looking ahead to 2020!

We have many goals for 2020, here's a sneak peak at a few:

• Increase the number of local women and families accessing the center.
• Strengthen our collaboration with referral NGOs, government, funding partners and local service providers.
• Review the current strategic plan and develop a new five-year strategic plan for 2021-2025
• Strengthen the ambassador program to reach more women and men in their own communities and advocate for change.
• Moving towards greater financial sustainability of our programs by enhancing our consulting services, engaging with existing donors, attracting new donors and fundraising efforts.

We look forward to working together to acheive all this and more in 2020.
