lndian Association for the Blind (lAB),based in Madurai, South India, is a well-known non-profit organization working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visual challenges. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those living in rural areas.
Thanks to GlobalGiving, we have received 2 donations for this project. We are very proud to be associated with GlobalGiving as it provides us an opportunity to connect with donors from across the globe. We will be utilizing the donations we receive for educating visually challenged youths, helping them secure their Master’s Degree and make them achieve them dreams through making them well-qualified.
We look forward to raising more donations for this project with the help of philanthropists. Currently, we have 10 students pursuing their Master’s degree at IAB. The timely help from generous donors will certainly aid in making these visually challenged youths lead independent and self-reliant lives.
