Respected Donor Namaste!!
Slum and street children are indulged in bad habits like abusing, theft, disrespecting elders etc due to lack of education about the moral values, discipline and sacraments. These children are busy in doing their daily work of collecting garbage or working at tea stalls in order to earn some money. They have to work in order to fulfill their dreams as their parents earn only that much which could provide food to eat for the family. These children are taught by no one that they must respect the elders and not involve in any type of bad activities. They are ignored by the mainstream society and mostly children also do not go to schools to have proper education to understand the importance of being disciplined and ethical.
In this context, RSKS India team organized Discipline & Sacrament Camps at the slum and street areas of Ajmer. The team went to more than 25 slum and street location where more than 550 slum and street children were taught about discipline, sacraments, good habits, moral values etc at the camps. These children were taught through the help of snake & ladder game, card sheets, flipcharts etc so that these children could understand about it an easy way and would adopt these good habits in their daily life. Chocolates, biscuit, gift, foods packts, bakery items etc were also given to these children at the end of the camps so that they could have moment of joy after learning good habits.
These slum and street children got to know about the good and bad habits through the snake and ladder game. They know do know about the importance of respecting elders and performing ethical practices in their life. mony children have quit doing unethical practices and are learning to be the best of themselves, these children are through the discipline and sacraments camps came to know about how discipline could change the behavior of the children and could lead to a very good life. These children also took an oath to never commit unethical work like burglary, begging, theft etc. Most of these children were brought at the camps by their parents and their parents did asked about when the camps will be organized again so that other children from the family could also be brought at the camps. The slum and street children as well as their parents were so happy with this camp and thanked whole RSKS team for organizing these camps.
