We are Together Reversing Statistics and Turning The Tide
By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader
Fatmata is full of hope - all smiles
News and statistics can be depressing!
Over the past week, our team did some research on girl statistics and found out that, according to the United Nations, there is a high dropout rate for girls (we already knew that) - and their enrolment in secondary education is low with net a secondary school attendance rate of 33 %
Only 1 in 3 girls! That is depressing!
That speaks to us of so many lives with missed and lost opportunities!
Thankfully we are together helping to reverse these depressing statistics and turn the tide - one child at a time. YOU are a big part of making this happen and we are sooo grateful for your support.
Here's some good news to cheer your day - Fatmata (pictured) is one of the young ladies that because of YOUR support now has new hope. Thanks to your donation, Fatmata's dream of on-going education is a reality! She is NOT part of the statistics!
Fatmata send her warm appreciation to YOU. She now feels loved and confident when she goes to school. The funds we provided covered her fees / related school costs and paid for her after-school lessons. This support has given her the impetus and renewed zeal to work hard towards her upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination.
This news just made my day and we hope it makes your day too!
Looking for more good news? In just over a month, you will have the opportunity to have your donation matched at 30% on Wednesday, May 7th.
- 30% matching
- Donations up to $1,000 matched
- Matching begins at 9:00 am (EST)
Please add this to your calendar and JOIN US in turning the Tide!

Hope For A Future Teacher
By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader
Yealie
Happy Holidays!
We are delighted to send you this project report - sharing the story of Yealie's life - a life we have touched together. Her story is a wonderful story that will warm your heart!
Yealie was born on 25th April, 2006 in a suburb of Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. Yealie has six brothers. Her mother is a housewife with no means of income. Her father is a petty trader but his meagre income is grossly insufficient to take care of the family. It is very difficult for Yealie’s family to get a meal a day. Their living condition is very poor. Three of her brothers were going to school and Yealie herself was at the verge of dropping out of school to hardship and financial constraints. Thanks to YOUR support - she is in school and eagerly learning each day!
Yealie loves school and she aspires to become a teacher when she grows up. Your support is helping to make her dream come true. We are together touching her life and preparing her for the important role of Teacher - much needed in Sierra Leone today. Thank you again very much for YOUR support - helping Yealie to continue her education. Your support is bringing hope and a promising future in Yealie's life.
Great Time to Give: We are so grateful for your previous support that has helped us touch many lives like Yealie's. We wanted to let you know of the great opportunity that GlobalGiving is offering right now.
