Mentee Angelina says: “Nor Luyce has brought many positive changes into my life, so I’ll just mention some of them. Firstly, I have noticed growth in my character, I am more active in my life and no longer shy, etc. I have acquired many skills here that I will use for the rest of my life. I have also made many irreplaceable friends at Nor Luyce. For teen girls, being in Nor Luyce is crucial because we learn things in a safe and supportive environment that will improve our future.”

The previous quarter was one of the most fulfilling and successful of the whole year. During this quarter, our mentees and mentors held an unprecedented number of 622 individual meetings, where our girls learned more about themselves, their strengths, and weaknesses, and made steady progress in discovering more of who they are thanks to the guidance of our mentors.

This quarter, we completed sixty-two hours of group work. Complementing our group mentoring meetings, the individual meetings gave our mentees an opportunity to learn more about their own personality traits and gave the mentors a chance to master their professional field.

Girls in the Skills Development phase transition into their professional development—acquiring skills for future success in writing research papers, giving presentations, improving ambition, and most importantly, applying these skills. All of this was complemented by the motivating and bright presence of our famous guest speakers. Our mentees managed to establish a debate club to discuss issues of global importance and possible solutions to them.

This quarter, we were well-represented at the international level, as our young representatives for Nor Luyce spoke twice at the podium of the United Nations. During such events, our program’s effectiveness and objectives were frequently discussed.

 "Joining Nor Luyce has radically changed my life as well as my future. I could improve myself, get rid of complexes; gain a number of important skills, and most importantly good friends. Thanks to Nor Luyce my worldview was changed, as well as my perceptions of life and of other people, were changed.", one of our mentees has expressed her thoughts. 

During these last three months our mentees were provided with 534 hours of individual services and 56 hours of group meetings. These meetings allowed the mentees learnt how to survive during war, what rights they have, how to set a short-term and long-term goals to reach their dreams, etc. They also had an opportunity to share all the lessons learnt and take-aways from their mentoring relationships and to hear these stories was rewarding for the mentros. 

The mentees also had an opportunity to explore and prepare their career plans, visit universities and other organizations to understand where they see their future. As a result of these meetings the mentees had finalized their career plans which will help them to take sustainable steps towards a better future.  The mentees also practiced the soft skills they gained through actively participating in a debate. And our third phase mentees had the opportunity to meet 4 famous people in Armenia who motivated them to follow their dreams, never give up and how to continue fighting for future when everywhere they face challenges and locked doors.

Along with finalizing the program year, we have also started the workshops for the new mentors to empower them with the right knowledge, skills and tools to start working with adolescent girls in the new program year. We also provided the mentees with computer classes to make sure they are ready for the next phase of our program.

During these last 3 months Nor Luyce has actively cooperated with various local and international organizations. The mentees and the Executive Director were invited to give a presentation on ‘How to stop bullying at local schools’ for students and teachers; they also had an opportunity to participate in international event: High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, and share their impact on realizing Sustainable Development Goals on the ground.
