Rainforest Therapies for Healthy Communities

As the end of the year unfolds, we start thinking about everything that happened through this year. All the good things, the bad, and the ones that could have gone in another way…

And we can count on our fingers all the things we wished we’ve done in a different way!

This year was all about changes: we were able to give another turn into the Forest Therapies program, as we grow within the community we are inserted and broadening it to other communities from the countryside that could benefit from the workshops that we’ve held all year long, challenge ourselves - and the participants of the program! – to be a little bit more empowered, by exchanging knowledge about the use of rainforest medicinal plants.

And now that the Holiday season is upon us, we are here to share all the love you gave us throught this year and remind you that we will need your help to continue doing MORE AND BETTER next year… As they say: Dreaming higher, going farther...

And as Washington Irving said once, “Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart." So unleash the power of giving!

But for now, we wish you a merry holiday season. May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill and may the year ahead be full of contentment and joy!

Greetings from the rainy rainforest, and here’s a big shoutout for being among the very first donors to our remodeled Forest Therapies program!

And we're sending you a million reasons to support us tomorrow, Giving Tuesday. 

This year GlobalGiving has $1,200,000 in incentive funding, and every donation raised between 1201 am and 1159 pm on November 29th will go even further!  

Over those 24 hours we're aiming to raise $15,000 and all donations will go directly to our programs of reforestation, education and medicinal plants. All part of caring for the forests and forest people. 

In our Forest Therapies project we’re participating in a nation-wide inventory of medicinal plants, as well as working to exchange knowledge with local community members on their traditional uses and create simple products for domestic and personal use. Plus we're encouraging rural women to raise their voices and participate in public environmental spaces.
