Last week, we held our workshop on Natural Cosmetics on Iracambi’s headquarters!
They women from the Godinhos community, which is the nearest community of Iracambi, learned more about what can be seen as natural cosmetics, why do we use them for, discovered a little bit more about which harmful ingredients we should avoid (that are usually contained in industrialized Cosmetics) and Carla also taught them some hygiene rules and safety rules for when preparing the products!
They also were able to learn some of the synonyms of those harmful ingredients and finally had some time to walk with Carla trought some recipes, where the coordinator lead the way and they were able to do the recipes for the lip balm, body deodorant (without aluminum, which can be one of the causers of cancer and should be avoided!), body exfoliating and a face exfoliating mask, a mask made of rice and a homemade flaxseed gel (gel de linhaça), which helps in the hydration of the hair and promotes a natural botox for the skin.
At the end, we did a conversation circle to find out more about what they think what should come next on the calendar of the workshops, what do they expect from the next steps of the training!
So, stick with us to see where we land next!
