Report on Rehabilitation for Children with ASD

By Sarah Slimp | Partnership Manager

This summer, Voices of Children continued to support children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by assisting in the provision of rehabilitation courses for families across Ukraine. The upheaval of war is particularly disruptive for children with ASD, as it affects the routines and structures these children rely on for their well-being and development. These rehabilitation courses offer them the stability and support needed to maintain progress and build resilience.

Thanks to our donors' generosity, our Foundation could support individualized two-month rehabilitation programs to 10 children this summer. These programs included 60 specialized sessions for each child, tailored to address the unique needs of each individual.

Each plan included behavioral therapy, sensory integration, speech development, and, when necessary, physical rehabilitation. These sessions, conducted by expert language therapists, psychologists, and sensory specialists, were instrumental in stabilizing the children's development and enhancing their adaptability to new challenges. These courses allow children to maintain their progress from previous programs and continue developing essential skills amidst the war.

The positive outcomes we've seen are a direct result of the commitment of our donors, whose contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of these children. We are committed to continuing to elevate our support for these children and are deeply grateful for GlobalGiving's impact so far.

We appreciate your kindness and generosity. Thank you for making a difference with Voices of Children!
