DAISY Books
From March to June, 2016, we finished recording four new audiobooks in DAISY format: Run for Life, Life is short, Be yourself, The Emerald of Taipei MRT and The Tour of Ancient Taipei City . Run for Life is about a Taiwanese who had cancer and this man loves marathon and bicycle riding. He fights against his disease bravely and encourages those who are sick or disabled. Life is short, Be yourselfincludes 55 fable stories of life. The Emerald of Taipei MRT and The Tour of Ancient Taipei City are about historical buildings and tour by MRT system in Taipei. All the audiobooks will be given to the visually impaired people free of charge. We also made many DAISY digital books: about 70 books per month.
In May 2016, we hold a seminar called “sharing life experiences”. For those who are unable to come to our conference room, they can use “Skype” to join the seminar as well. Besides, we offer psychology counseling services. First, our social workers talk over the visually impaired face to face and learn to know their real needs. Secondly, we will find licensed counselors to arrange therapy. After the therapy, we expect them to recover their mental health gradually.
Maintain and Enlarge the TDTB DAISY Library continuously.
This Online library is constructed in 2010, and all the visually impaired people are welcome to be our members from then. At present, our TDTB library has over 515 members and provides over 5479 DAISY books. (June, 2016)
