At last 300 children now have access to abundance safe, clean and portable water

Dear friends,

You did a marvellous job to donate some funds towards the installation of a borehole at Chiedza Child Care Centre in Harare.  Through your support, children are now enjoying their right to clean water! In the past couple of years, water supply at the centre which supports 1500 children per year with 300 children visiting the centre daily has been very erratic. In fact, the water crisis had reached alarming levels to the extent that the management was now contemplating asking guardians to bring water for use at the centre. All these are now history; clean water is now available at the centre 7 days a week!

Cooking and growing of vegetables critical for children’s nutrition are now being grown at a larger scale to reduce expenditures on food purchases.  Even grounds and toilets maintenance are now easy, because water is now readily available. Children could not hide their joy when they were told that the new borehole is now functional.  One child Chido said, “Now we have dignity because we now have abundant water; we were tired of avoiding our toilets just because there was no water for cleaning them after use…..” The local authority water supplies though erratic will be augmented by the supplies from the borehole.

Thank you once again good friends, until next time, Good bye for now!
