Safe and secure spaces for our children

Hello! We want to thank you for making it possible for the children we welcome to enjoy a dignified and respectful space in which they can heal and recover their rights, until they have again a family for life.

CRAN is the temporary home of 62 children between 0 and 14 years old. For the rotation of the children, a year approximately 150 children live with us.

Like all homes, maintenance and repairs are necessary to ensure the integrity of children.

In the kitchen, where the six daily meals that the children receive are prepared, periodically we check the stoves, refrigerators and freezers. Thus, thanks to you, we can guarantee adequate conservation and preparation of food, which meets the nutritional needs of children and does not endanger their health.

In the laundry we must make maintenance to the washing machines and the dryers.

To the walls and meshes that surround us and protect also. In fact, with your contributions, in the past months we adjusted several sections that were very deteriorated.

We must paint the children's houses very soon and we will do it thanks to you!

Offering this warm and safe home to children who have suffered such difficult situations would not be possible without your help.

¡Hola! Queremos agradecerte por hacer posible que los niños que acogemos disfruten de un espacio digno y respetuoso en el que pueden sanar y recuperar sus derechos, hasta que vuelven a tener una familia para toda la vida.

CRAN es el hogar temporal de 62 niños entre los 0 y los 14 años. Por la rotación de los niños, al año viven con nosotros unos 150 niños en total.

Como todo hogar, es necesario hacer mantenimientos y reparaciones para asegurar la integridad de los niños.

En la cocina, donde se preparan las seis comidas diarias que reciben los niños, periódicamente revisamos las estufas, neveras y congeladores. Así, gracias a ti, podemos garantizar una conservación y preparación adecuada de los alimentos, que responda a las necesidades nutricionales de los niños y no ponga en riesgo su salud.

En la lavandería debemos hacer mantenimientos a las lavadoras y a las secadoras.

A los muros y mallas que nos rodean y protegen también. De hecho, con tus aportes, en los meses pasados ajustamos varios tramos que estaban muy deteriorados.

Las casa de los niños debemos pintarlas muy pronto y lo haremos ¡gracias a ti!

Ofrecer este hogar cálido y seguro a niños que han sufrido situaciones tan difíciles, no sería posible sin tu ayuda.

Hello! We want to thank you because you make it possible for us to offer a decent, safe and respectful home to the children we care for and protect temporarily until they recover a family.

We are fortunate that the headquarters of CRAN is very wide, with many gardens, trees and green areas. During the day children play and run, breathe pure air and enjoy the sun. But at night, the headquarters was not illuminated and it became an insecure space.

The darkness represented a risk for the children and their caregivers because the land where CRAN is is very inclined and there are many stairs and slopes. If a caregiver had to take a child to the hospital, for example, she had to use a flashlight while carrying the child and the suitcase with her things. Or it was a risk for children who arrive late from school or who are referred to CRAN at night and who may fall.

It was also a risk that unknown people could enter.

With the contributions we have received in the project, we illuminated the headquarters of CRAN with the installation of several reflectors, the wiring and the necessary electrical connections.

Thanks to your generosity we were also able to replace the electrical installations in Casa Pollos, the house for babies between 0 and 2 years old, which were very obsolete. We thus avoid accidents such as short circuits that put the youngest at risk.

¡Hola! Queremos agradecerte porque tú haces posible que podamos ofrecerles un hogar digno, seguro y respetuoso a los niños y niñas que cuidamos y protegemos temporalmente hasta que recuperan una familia.

Tenemos la fortuna de que la sede de CRAN sea muy amplia, con muchos jardines, árboles y zonas verdes. De día los niños juegan y corren, respiran aire puro y disfrutan del sol. Pero de noche, la sede no estaba iluminada y se convertía en un espacio inseguro.

La oscuridad representaba un riesgo para los niños y sus cuidadoras porque el terreno en donde está CRAN es muy inclinado y hay muchas escaleras y desniveles. Si una cuidadora tenía que llevar a un niño de urgencia al hospital, por ejemplo, tenía que usar una linterna mientras cargaba al niño y la maleta con sus cosas. O era un riesgo para los niños que llegan tarde del colegio o que son remitidos a CRAN de noche y que pueden caerse. 

También era un riesgo que pudieran ingresar personas desconocidas. 

Con los aportes que hemos recibido en el proyecto, iluminamos la sede de CRAN con la instalación de varios reflectores, del cableado y de las conexiones eléctricas necesarias.

Gracias a tu generosidad además pudimos reemplazar las instalaciones eléctricas en la Casa Pollos, la casa donde están los bebés entre 0 y 2 años, que estaban muy obsoletas. Evitamos así accidentes como cortocircuitos que pusieran en riesgo a los más chiquitos.
