In the eastern of Democratic Republic of Congo, children's education has been compromised by the war of recent years. People have moved from village to village and children traumatized have been dropped out of school.
I am Ajuani, I am 13 years old, we fled from Rutshuru and walked for several days. I was very scared by the bombs. I was carrying my little brother. My feet were swollen.
Here we were welcomed with my mother and brothers in this camp at Children's Voice Kibati school. I am happy because I had the chance to join the class. Now I am studying. I received notebooks, pens, shoes and clothes. My colleagues help me with exercises. I love my classmates. My dream is to be a teacher.
I thank Children's Voice and its partners for their generosity.
