Dear Sponsor's

Skilling school dropout youth is a critical intervention, particularly in Uganda, where high dropout rates and economic pressures leave many without sustainable employment.

Aparis Community Development Program  aim to provide vocational training, increasing youth employment rates by nearly 90% in some cases, focusing on skills like ICT, tailoring, and farming.

Key Aspects of Skilling Programs:

Target Population: Youth aged 18 to 30, particularly those not in education, employment, or training

Focus Areas: Practical skills like ict, video editing, app development, and vocational trades like brick-making and agriculture.

Impact: Participants in vocational training are significantly more likely to be employed (90%) compared to non-participants (35%).

Challenges and Opportunities:

High Dropout Causes: Poverty, high fees, and lack of interest, often peaking in P4-P6.

Program Hurdles: Limited funding, weak industry links, and low digital literacy among some trainees.

Recommendations: Focus on practical, demand-driven training, provide start-up toolkits, and promote financial literacy for self-employment.
