Project Report | Jul 6, 2017
End of school year 2016-2017

By Herve Millet | Founder

July 1st was the last day at school for the 215 students of the LAP.

Results for the school year:

As last year the results of our students to the national exam called BEPC was not good. Only 29% of the students passed the exam. We have seen the discipline deteriorating through the year and we have also seen a lack of leadership at the school. We will start the next school year with new director. Also several teachers will be changed.

One of the major task for next year will also be to give a purpose to the children. Many of them coming directly from remote villages do not have an idea why they have to study.

Agricultural certificate:

At the end of the 3rd year, we make the students pass an agricultural certificate, This is an in house exam. From the 53 students 41 got the certificate. Students who have got the certificate got also a chicken to take home from the production of the school.

End of the year performance:

For the last 3 weeks of the school year, students were busy working the field of the LAP, but also preparing a performance for the last day. Parents coming to pick up their children could enjoy this performance.

Students at the LAP thank you for your support. Without it those children coming from poor farmers families wouls not have been able to attend the LAP.

School year 2017-2018 will start on September 15th 2017. We still your support for thsi new school year.
