Graduation and top honors for Maria with mother
Empowering girls to reach their full potential is what CW is all about...
Graduation is a bittersweet time for all. Ruth proudly stands next to Maria, the top-rated 6th grade graduate and her mother at the end of the school year last December. This was Maria's final day in the loving arms of the CW School for girls. Excited about her future and proud of her accomplishments, Maria knows she will manage her adjustment to a co-ed public high school, thanks to the 8 years of CW preparation she has received. She has listened to the CW alumnae stories about CW Girls being recognized by the high school principal as the highest achievers at the high school. She also knows that several CW alumnae girls entered the prestigious Cusco University last March and she can too.

THIS IS A CW School FUNDRAISER
Photo: Cristel received her diploma last Dec. and was surprised when she was awarded the honor of being the best friend to all of her classmates and gifted an envelope with 50soles. This was a teary moment that sent Cristel into the arms of her beloved school director Ruth. She started high school in March this year.
Photo: The two highest CW achievers were recognized at graduation and stood tall with director Ruth and their mothers for this honor in front of the entire student body. Now in High school.
Photo: One of many visits from the CW alumnae high school girls who enjoyed breakfast at the school and a game before the advanced math class and bakery class begins.
A few of the CW Programs
Our daily hot meal program has improved the health of our CW school girls who arrive each March malnourished due to poverty and a lack of nutrition. They have overcome anemia, lethargy, and several are being treated for TB and other health issues found at the annual March Physical Exam.
All girls participate in the school's mayoral election, as if it were the Peruvian Presidential election, to learn how to vote..so they then can teach their parents. Here you can see the moderated debate between the final candidates. All students vote.
The honor guard girls are the 6 top 6th grade students and the flag bearer is THE top student. In the photo the outgoing 6th grade is marching towards the incoming 6th grade students chosen to receive and carry this honor for the next school year.
CW IMPACT
Our girls are University and Vocational college bound and this has been the dream of Ruth and I – for CW girls to have this opportunity to reach their dreams. Their line of women never had the opportunity to go to school for the basics, let alone higher education. We have girls at the University now. Photo: These are three of our alumnae girl - look at those faces. They will go far and be the leaders of tomorrow. We are so proud of them!
