We all probably agree that food is primarily need for humans. It would be unethical and unfair for carefully grown food to be thrown away, so volunteers of the "Maisto Bankas" collect food items from supermarkets, producers, retailers, and farmers every day so that good food reach the tables of the ones who needs the most. We are very happy that this year we have already saved 445 tons of good food.
65000 tons of fruits and vegetables in Lithuanian farms are not being used, this would be enough to feed 10 times more Lithuanians living in Lithuania. We are doing our best to cooperate with Lithuanian farmers to save even more vegetables and fruits.
If we had a new van we could save even more food from being wasted. So far we have raised 14,383 USD, our goal is 34,821 USD. Every donation brings us closer to our goal.
Thank you everyone who donates and believes in our mission. Together we can make the difference!
Please share our project with your friends and family.
Sincerely yours,
