Since 2019, we have been targeting a specific area with our reforestation efforts, that had an old spring that had dried up after the area arounded degraded. This month, we carried out our largest planting effort yet, with two thousand trees in a single week! Some of the trees we planted previously have grown and are providing more shade and water retention, so it was time to push along the ecological succession adding several leguminous and native species seedlings.
Next year, we will focus on reforestation on our site, expanding to 30 hectares of degraded land within our property. A big thank you to our donors that supporting us by allowing us to have a timely flow of resources to maintain the seedlings. Together we will bring back the Atlantic Rainforest at SINAL and the Rio Green Belt!
