As we are coming up on the driest season of the year, our greatest efforts go to monitoring and preventing for fires. This is a very labor-heavy endeavor as it not only requires constant patrolling, but reinforcing fences and making firebreaks on each side for the 30 hectars we have planted.
This season is particularly prone to fires because neighboring farms burn their properties to prepare for next planting season, so it is critical for us to secure funds to operate! This will carry on until September when the rainy season comes back and we switch to planting mode, replacing lost seedlings and preparing new areas.
A huge thank you to our donors who are helping us bring back te Atlantic Rainforest! Please consider sharing with your friends, and stay tuned for planting season news!
