Reforesting the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil

The native tree nursery at SINAL has become a crucial element in our reforestation efforts, currently operating at full capacity with 10,000 seedlings ready to be planted in designated reforestation areas. This vast collection of native species plays a pivotal role in restoring and maintaining the ecosystemic balance in our own property, but also contributing significantly to biodiversity conservation beyond, with our partners. Each seedling grown here is nurtured with care, ensuring they are robust enough to thrive when transplanted into the wild. The nursery not only focuses on the propagation of trees but also on fostering a resilient landscape that supports a wide range of wildlife and stabilizes the local climate.

Beyond its environmental impact, the nursery serves as an educational platform for volunteers and students, offering a hands-on learning experience in the field of botany, ecology, and conservation practices. Participants engage in various activities, from seed collection and germination to the care and maintenance of young plants. This immersive experience is designed to inspire and educate future conservationists and environmental stewards. By involving the community and students, SINAL emphasizes the importance of collective effort in environmental conservation and the practical skills needed to manage and propagate native flora.
