A Discussion and Opinion Sharing Meeting on Promoting Children and Women’s Health Rights and Empowerment was successfully organized with the active participation of students and parents under the program “Provision of Solar Support and Emergency Relief for Flood Shelter Families.” On the dated 21th January 2026 at Organization auditorium. The objective of the meeting was to raise awareness on health rights, gender equality, menstrual hygiene, and community resilience during flood emergencies.
The program was honored by the presence of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) as the Chief Guest, along with other government officials who attended as Special Guests. Their participation added significant value to the discussion and encouraged community engagement and confidence in public institutions.
During the interactive session, key topics such as women’s and children’s health rights, adolescent health, menstrual hygiene management, and the importance of preparedness during floods were discussed openly. Parents and students actively shared their experiences, challenges, and opinions, creating a participatory and inclusive environment. The session also highlighted the role of solar support in ensuring safety, access to basic services, and dignity for families residing in flood shelters.
Following the discussion, Menstrual Hygiene Packages were distributed among adolescent girl students to support safe and healthy menstrual practices. The distribution was well-received, and the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for addressing an often-neglected but critical health need.
Overall, the program contributed to increased awareness, empowerment, and practical support for children, women, and flood-affected families, while strengthening collaboration between the community and local government representatives. Please visit the Link.
