Back to School

Our new classes are ready
Our new classes are ready

We have successfully finished our first month since we reopened the school after the Christmas holidays.  The holiday was very short and we didn't have our national exams due to a change in the academic calendar. The learners had one week off school, we are happy that they all reported on the first day happy and healthy.

We have been working hard because we have only two months to exams, our 8th-grade learners will be taking their national exams in March and their timetable is very tight. The lessons that have to be covered within three months are supposed to be covered within two months which has really been hard, but we are happy to report that they are doing well.  They have taken some trial exams and they have done very well, we are therefore expecting good results.

This is because you have given them a good learning environment and they are happy to be back in school. They are always looking forward to coming back to school and this is because of your efforts and commitment to give hope and change a life. The lunch provided at school, the love, and committed teachers give these learners the desire to learn.

After the exams, the school will close for the holidays and we will start a new academic year in April.  The 8th-grade students who will have finished their exams will be joining the high school in May. Our sponsorship program has enabled us to give the best we can and the children are happy at school and home.

We are not only providing education and food at school but since last year we have made efforts to visit our homes and support where necessary. The challenge is that our sponsorship program on GlobalGiving is not growing therefore we are not admitting new orphans in school. We have several files of death applications but we can't have them all. We are hoping that this year we will have more people come on board to enable us to admit a few orphans this in April when we reopen schools.

We gave our girls the washable pads and they were very happy.  We are making our own reusable pads and this is helping our girls. They don't need to worry during their periods.  Once again thank for making it all happen.  Together we are changing communities
