Give the Gift of Education: Sponsor a Child Zambia

Sponsor A Child program has impacted a lot of our sponsored children in so many ways. We took our time to find out from one of our past beneficiaries Edna and now under the sponsor of a future program.

What does Sponsor A Child mean to you?

And this was her response:  Sponsor a child to me means securing a child's future through education and not only that but also means helping out children who are in need, faced with different challenges of life with no hope of a bright future. It accorded me a chance to be in school and also be able to have all my school fees and school requirements catered for.

How has the Sponsor A Child impacted you?

And this was her response: Since my parents passed on when I was still a toddler; my grandparents have been taking care of me. My grandparents are very old and don’t work just do some piece of work to put food on the table, which is a real struggle. Before I was sponsored there used to struggle to pay for my school fees and buy all the school requirements. Therefore, Sponsor, A Child program has impacted me in many positive ways. Am now able to achieve my dreams of becoming a Nurse because someone, somewhere devoted their resources to see to it that my school needs are covered.

How do you feel to be in college now?

And this was her response: I feel very excited because am slowly achieving my dreams; it’s indeed a dream come true. I didn't know that I will come this far with my education because my grandparents are not financially stable.

We started 2022 on a good note with learners so excited about going back to school and getting into new grades. This period has been characterized with busy schedules of our students coming to collect school supplies for their new term such as shoes, jerseys, school bags, books, pencils, realm of papers and payment of school fees for those paying.

As we begin the new year we also receive results from all the students that wrote their exams the previous year. Each year we have students that sit for their final grade twelve as a result we would like to share the wonderful news of our learners who wrote their last high school G12 last year. Unlike other years, this one has been overwhelmingly super because we had more than 75% pass rate going to different universities and courses with many of them going for medical trainings. This is the highest pass rate since we started this program. Thank you to all of you our friends and we highly appreciate you because our dream is coming true of breaking chains of poverty through your help and unwavering support. The team has also been on the ground in helping the successful ones apply for bursaries in different universities. Some of our learners have already been accepted in prestigious and internationally recognized and authentic universities like University of Zambia, Mulungushi University, University of Lusaka, and Cavendish University.

Apart from going to university and college; some of our leaners that completed school want to go enterprenual and feel they can do better and we encourage them to do that and support them all the way.
