Family Day!!

By Inge Hernandez Beck | Project Leader

At Fundación DEHVI, we have all kinds of families! That is why we have a special day where each child can celebrate their own family and be proud of it and where each family can celebrate their own child and be proud of him or her.

As you know, the children that attend our child centers stay with us from 6am to 6pm from Monday to Friday. They get to spend a lot of time with their teachers and child center personnel, so the child center becomes a second home for the children and the child center personnel, fellow friends and classmates become their second family as well. So we all celebrated together “Family Day”!

We all got to spend a very special day with lots delicious food, good music, and extremely fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The child centers directors worked very hard for this activity to be a great success and it really was! The families got to the child centers early in the morning and most of them didn’t even want to leave! This is what we love about our job, we get to see huge smiles and people learning and having fun all the time.

However, even though we celebrate this special day with all of the children’s families, it does not mean that this is the only time we get to spend time with them. On the contrary, due to the Reggio Emilia inspiration pedagogy we implement, we constantly incorporate parents and caregivers in our day-to-day activities and projects. We believe that if parents/caregivers are involved in their children’s educational processes, the children will have a much more positive early development. We want children to be able to share with their parents about what they are doing and learning at DEHVI and we want parents to understand the importance of the education their children are receiving. We are succeeding in this because parents/caregivers are more and more involved with DEHVI and their children day by day.

As a result, we are benefitting and impacting not only the children, but their families as well. Later on we can tell you more details regarding the impact we are having on the children’s families.

This impact is thanks to donors like you! Your donations help us provide the best attention to families, but most importantly, you help us provide the best early education and alimentation to the children. Thank you for your past and future donations!!

Sincerely,

Inge
