Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank everyone who has supported the Sponsor Surgeries for 100 Children with Cleft Lips project. Your generosity reflects care for children who live with untreated cleft lips and the families who struggle to find help.
In many low-resource communities in Nigeria, children born with cleft lips are unable to access surgery due to cost, distance to hospitals, or lack of information. Some children face feeding difficulties, repeated illness, and social rejection. Families often feel helpless and may resort to unsafe traditional practices when proper medical care is out of reach.
This project is planned to sponsor surgery and basic care for 100 children with cleft lips. Local volunteers and health workers will identify affected children and link them to trained surgeons at approved hospitals. Support will include hospital fees, travel assistance, and basic aftercare. Families will also receive guidance on feeding and follow-up care.
At this time, the donation received will not be able to help start the program yet. However, we are currently carrying out needs assessments in selected communities to identify eligible children and prepare referral pathways so implementation can begin immediately once funding is sufficient.
With adequate support, this project will help children eat, speak, and grow without stigma, while giving families hope and access to safe medical care.
Thank you for standing with children in need as we prepare to move this project forward.
Kind regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
