For 15+ years we have been providing high quality extracurricular STEM education in institutional settings all across Vietnam. And you're support has helped to ensure that our projects continue to reach as many children and youth as possible. But STEM is just a means toward to the end - our overarching goal is to create an environment where each youth has the opportunity to enter a career where they can earn a liveable wage and have opportunities for personal and professional growth and advancement.
Every year we celebrate those outcomes with our students who take that important step forward. Whether it be continuing on to university, or entering a professional vocational training course, we want to celebrate those accomplishments. Join us today in celebrating 4 young women who will taking the next step to university. Their perseverence and courage inspires us.
And your financial support helps make these programs possible.
Sincerely,
Tad

Meaningful STEM Classes Taking Place
By Tad Kincaid | Executive Director

Thanks to your ongoing support, the Kidspire STEM classes are reaching into the communities of children and youth where they are most needed - and where they can drive the most impact. Recently, Kidspire was able to bring STEM classes into an residential school for youth who are deaf. None of the participants had previously been able to join STEM classes. Working closely with sign language language interpreters, the Kidspire teaching staff was able to engage the participants throughout a 10-week STEM course.
This is exactly the intended purpose of Kidspire's operation in Vietnam: Getting high quality, engaging and interactive STEM classes into groups of students that living in communities that are typically underserved by traditional programs.
Thank you for helping to make these programs possible!
Sincerely,,
Tad

Supplementing STEM with Social Emotional Learning
By Tad Kincaid | Executive Director

At the beginning of August, Kidspire launched a new program: STEM+SEL. Over 15 years of facilitating STEM education in Vietnamese institutions, we have observed that many of our students could benefit from learning to identify and regulate their emotions. So, we set out to build upon our strengths and supplement our STEM activities with social emotional learning (SEL). Our curriculum team worked hard to create an engaging 5-day curriculum that we could use to test the concept. We implemented the pilot program with a group of students in Hue, Vietnam, during a week-long STEM Camp. By using concepts of STEM - an activity that youth love! - It allowed our teachers an opportunity to introduce essential concepts of social-emotional learning. The feedback from students was largely positive, and our teaching team is returning to Ho Chi Minh City, motivated to further develop the concept by building a more comprehensive 10-week curriculum that will reach 1,000 students over the next 16 months.
Thank you for supporting Kidspire in providing essential educational programs to children growing up in institutional settings across Vietnam. We are grateful to you for helping us reach more students.
Sincerely,
Tad
