Life skills, Capacity building and EDP training s is very necessary for the young women and girls who are the trainees at the beauty parlour and garment making vocational training school of RSKS India. These trainings are very important as these trainings increase the confidence of the girls and also improves their talent and let them know about how they could showcase their skills or talent in a more efficient and effective way. Life skills make the women to stress less and understand the importance of life whereas the capacity building helps in improving the capacity of these women and girls and the EDP helps these women and girls in gaining knowledge about better entrepreneurship.

In this context, RSKS India organized Life skills, Capacity building and EDP training at the beauty parlour and garment making vocational training school of RSKS India. In this training all the girl and women trainees were called and different types of activities were done with every trainees. In these trainings, many successful entrepreneurs and capacity building trainers and life skill trainers were called by RSKS India in order to make these women and girls understand well. The trainees participated in all the activities done in these trainings and also heard and understood the things said in the trainings.

These Life skills, Capacity building and EDP trainings were not only helpful in increasing the knowledge base of the trainees, it also improved the thinking abilities of these trainees. The trainees were able to do SWOT analysis of themselves and were able to work accordingly. Many of the trainees showed their interest in entrepreneurship and also got knowledge about how to start entrepreneurship and what are the legal requirements to start a business. Through the capacity building training the trainees were able to speak up about their views to their family. All the women and girls Trainees were very happy after getting these important trainings at the vocational school.

Empowering Girls with Vocational Education.....

Beauty parlour is a very prominent place for girls and women but it is also very helpful way of business for the girls and women. In this era of covid-19 when employment of many people got snatched away, learning a skill in order to have own financial resources is a very good option. The girls and women are always thinking that how they could help their family financially but are unable to as they are told to remain at house only and are not sent out of the village to earn. This is not at all a good thing because it destroys the feeling of the girl and women as they are forced to stay at home only and do home activities.

In order to remove the chain from the legs of these young women and girls, RSKS India organized 3 months beauty parlour training for the women and girls in which around 25 young girls and women enrolled their name. RSKS India team members selected these girls and women through the baseline survey and then these women were taught theoretically as well as practically by the master trainer of the organization. In this training, to increase the confidence and morale of the trainees, RSKS India organized many activities like sports, bridal makeup, fashion show, etc in which all the trainees participated enthusiastically. This training was organized in village where the need of this training was very much as these 25 young women and girls really wanted to support their family financially.

The beauty parlour training program of RSKS India changed the lives of the young women and girls as it taught a new skill to these women and girls through which they are able to earn for themselves and their family. Now these girls know and can do all the beauty parlour activities like hair spa, hair cutting, nail art etc with efficient and effective ways. These women and girls are able to earn while sitting at home and have become example for other girls and women of the area. These women and girls do get the appreciation of many people and a strong message is being delivered in the conservative thinking society that women and girls could do anything. This program is very successful towards women empowerment through sustainable livelihood. All the family members of these girls and women thanked the RSKS India team members, master trainer and the donors through which this program was successfully implemented in their area.

No Silence About Violence...

RSKS India Family and the beneficiaries wish you and your family "Merry Christmas" !!

It has been observed in rural areas that the violence cases against female happens more in rural areas. It happens due to lack of awareness in the rural areas and also because of male dominated society. It’s not like it doesn’t happen in cities but it’s like the most cases are seen in rural areas. In rural areas, the girls and boys at schools do not get the knowledge of End Gender Based Violence and because of this many problems arises in future as if the children will taught in their schools about the End Gender Based Violence then surely a bright future for all of them and for all of us can be achieved.

In order to create a better future and Eradicate Gender Based Violence, RSKS India organized a “End Gender Based Violence program” at 17 rural schools and with approx 700 children. Under this program, many activities were planned and executed like making these children understand through flipcharts, group discussion, role play, workshops etc. This was done with the support of school administration, local administration and the children itself. All the children participated in all the activities organized under this program and got awareness about End Gender Based Violence. In this program, the bad things or we could say the social evils prevailing in the sociaty because of Gender based violence were told to these children and also they were told to raise voice against anything bad. All these children took oath at the end of the program that they will surely contribute their part towards ending the gender based violence in their area.

RSKS India’s efforts will help in changing the mindset of the children and also letting these children know about the adverse effects of gender based violence. Also the children got to know about the benefits of not doing gender based violence. These children are the future of the nation so if they would contribute their part towards the right thing then in future the nation will be social evils free. The school administration, local administration and the children itself praised the program and also everyone said that this will be a new start in our village against the gender based violence. The children’s oath is a proof that they will make sure that no such social evils should prevail in their area and if it happens then they know what to do. This program not only led to increase in the knowledge of these children, it also led to mind development of these children and also not to think this society as male dominated society and always treat every gender equally. This program is itself a step towards End Gender Based Violence.
