Help Children With Cerebral Palsy Thrive

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting the Support 300 Children with Cerebral Palsy in Kano project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and compassion for children living with disabilities and the families who care for them every day.

Children with cerebral palsy often require regular therapy, mobility support, and specialized care to improve their quality of life. Unfortunately, many families in Kano cannot access these services due to financial hardship, limited availability of trained professionals, and a shortage of assistive devices. As a result, many children experience avoidable pain, mobility difficulties, feeding challenges, and social isolation.

We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin implementation of the project. Additional support is needed before therapy services, mobility aids, caregiver training, equipment procurement, and outreach activities can commence.

This project aims to provide physical therapy, assistive devices, caregiver education, and community-based support to 300 children living with cerebral palsy. Trained health workers and therapists will work with families to improve daily care practices and help children achieve the highest level of independence possible. Mobile support teams are also planned to reach children who are unable to travel to therapy centers.

Early intervention and continuous support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with cerebral palsy. Therapy and appropriate care can help improve movement, reduce discomfort, support communication, and increase participation in school and community activities. Families also benefit from learning practical skills that make caregiving safer and more effective.

We remain committed to launching this project and continue working toward the resources needed to begin the first phase. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates, photographs, and stories from the children and families who will benefit from this support.

Thank you for helping create opportunities for children with cerebral palsy to live healthier, more comfortable, and more inclusive lives.

Warm regards,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
