ORPHAN WITH HIS GOATS
This is quarterly activity and status report on “support 320 orphans with goat’s project in Kibuku, Pallisa and Butebo Districts in Uganda” for a period April to July 2020. The project contributes to improved household incomes of households with orphans and vulnerable children to enable them secure Medical treatment, scholastic materials and other basic needs. KADO acknowledges to all donors and the community for the support in the project period.
Project Status
The project is currently implemented utilizing community contributions. We are not realizing financial support from our donors yet there is increased number of orphans that require support
Implemented Activities:
The following was done in April to June 2020:
- Distributed 6 goats to 6 orphans
- Treated 15 goats for 10 orphans
- Visited 20 orphans to ascertain the status of their goats project
Challenges:
- The organization relies majorly on donor funds and each donor has priority areas for the funds donated.
- There is still low project cash inflow 3. Overwhelming number of OVCs that demand goats
- COVID -19 pandemic caused lockdown and schools are closed. Some of our orphan girl children have been married off
Recommendations:
KADO still requests all well-wishers to be part of us and give a helping hand for the support of Orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda.

This is quarterly activity and status report on “support 320 orphans with goat’s project in Kibuku, pallisa and Butebo districts in Uganda” for a period October to December, 2019. The project contributes to improved household incomes of households with orphans and vulnerable children to enable them secure Medical treatment, scholastic materials and other basic needs. KADO acknowledges to all donors and the community for the support in the quarter. Current Status the project is implemented at low pace due to increased number of OVCs and lack of adequate funding. Many OVCs still study without uniform, school meals and at times lack scholastic materials due to limited household income of the caregivers and guardians. In the quarter (October to December, 2019), the following was implemented: 1. secured 4 she goats and shall be distributed in march 2020 2. Monitored 18 beneficiaries 3. Treated 22 goats of beneficiaries 3.0 Challenges 1. Cost securing improved breeder she- goats: The organization relies majorly on donor funds and each donor has priority areas for the funds donated. 2. There is still low project cash inflow 3. Summary
This is quarterly activity and status report on “support 320 orphans with goat’s project in Kibuku, pallisa and Butebo districts in Uganda” for a period July to September 2019. The overall purpose of the project remains contribution to improved household income of OVC households to enable them secure Medical treatment, scholastic materials and other basic needs. KADO is grateful to all donors and the community for the support in the quarter.
Current Status
The rate of breeding is very low due to limited breeder-goats and this has hampered the project to attain the expected results in time. There are 282 OVCs that study without uniform, school meals and at times lack scholastic materials due to limited household income of the caregivers and guardians. In the quarter (July to September, 2019), KADO managed to plan and implement the following activities:-
- Monitored 8 beneficiaries
- Treated 12 goats of beneficiaries
- 3 Goateed produced and 2 she goats will be disseminated in the third week of October, 2019
3.0 Challenges

- Low project cash inflow: KADO has got limited donor funding for the project and the communities where the project is located.

Success Story
This is a story of Monica a girl child who received support from the project. Her father died and was left in the Hands of the mother who is financially incapacitated. he was picked by KADO and supported with a goat for rearing to raise income to pay her scholastic materials beginning at primary four. She completed her senior four and joined a tailoring course. she is joining her second year in January and completing in December, 2020. this is what exactly what KADO does.
