Expanding Local Radio Communication for Ebola Awareness
In both Uganda and eastern DRC, local radio remains one of the most powerful and accessible communication tools, especially in remote and rural areas. Because of your support, radio-based awareness campaigns are being expanded to reach wider audiences with accurate Ebola information.
Radio programs are broadcasting messages on symptoms, prevention practices, and the importance of early reporting. Interactive segments allow community members to ask questions and receive real-time clarification from health experts.
As a result, awareness is increasing significantly across diverse populations, including those who may not have access to other forms of communication. Misinformation is being reduced, and communities are becoming more confident in their understanding of Ebola.
Cross-border broadcasting ensures consistency in messaging, helping align prevention efforts between Uganda and DRC.
This approach also reaches mobile populations, such as traders and transport workers, who rely on radio during travel.
Your support is amplifying lifesaving information—ensuring that accurate, timely messages reach even the most remote communities.
By strengthening communication, you are empowering individuals with the knowledge needed to protect themselves and others.
