Reinforcing Household Hygiene Practices
Households are at the center of Ebola prevention, as many infections occur through close contact within families. Because of your support, targeted efforts are being made to reinforce hygiene practices at the household level.
Awareness campaigns are focusing on practical, everyday actions such as regular handwashing, safe caregiving, and maintaining clean living environments. Families are also being encouraged to recognize symptoms early and seek help promptly.
As a result, households are becoming safer spaces, with increased adoption of hygiene practices and reduced risky behaviors. Family members are supporting one another in maintaining these practices, creating a culture of shared responsibility.
This shift is critical in breaking chains of transmission, as early action within the home can prevent the spread of infection to the wider community.
Your support is empowering families with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves—strengthening the foundation of Ebola prevention from the inside out.
