Providing Psychosocial Support to Affected Families in DRC
Ebola outbreaks do not only affect physical health—they also leave deep emotional and psychological impacts on individuals and families. Loss, fear, and stigma can take a lasting toll on affected communities. Because of your support, psychosocial support initiatives are helping families cope and recover.
Trained community members and support networks are engaging with affected households, offering emotional support, guidance, and reassurance. Awareness efforts are also helping reduce stigma, encouraging communities to support rather than isolate those affected.
As a result, individuals and families are beginning to heal emotionally, regaining confidence and reconnecting with their communities. Reduced stigma is also encouraging more people to seek help early, improving overall response effectiveness.
This support is essential in restoring dignity, hope, and resilience in communities that have experienced loss and fear.
Your support is helping address the human side of the outbreak—ensuring that recovery includes emotional well-being as well as physical health.
By investing in psychosocial care, you are helping communities rebuild stronger and more united.
