Our targeted area Banisanta union, Dacope upazila, Khulna is very near to the Bay of Bengal. The whole village is surrounded by river. The water of this river is very salty. Most of the houses have a pond but during high tide this salty water enters into these ponds. So villagers cannot use this water for house hold purpose. There is also scarcity of safe drinking water. Most of the local community reserve rain water for drinking and other house hold works but it is not enough for whole year. In dry season people faces many problem to collect the fresh water. They have to collect water from a far distance. And transportation of this water also create a challenge for them some of them don’t have jar for carrying and store water.
For solving this problem Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) take an initiative to distribute water jar to the villagers. We distribute 200 water jars on the basis of their need to the villagers to solve their problem. This jar can contain 20 liters of water. But this is not enough for a families drinking water need. We want to distribute more water jar to the villagers.
We would like to thank all our donors for their amazing and continuous support for the coastal deprived people. We are requesting all our donors to start monthly recurring donation by clicking the following link;
