Project overview
This project is focused on providing medical insurance, scholastic materials and counseling to 121 children with disabilities or children born to parents with disabilities, providing entrepreneurial training to their parents and advocating for the inclusion of these children in local elementary schools.
Activity: Counseling and career guidance
Despite the fact that funds has not been secured to begin full-scale counseling, the project team managed to conduct formal counseling sessions to 24 children. The counseling sessions were about children’s rights, being responsible children and career guidance. These formal counseling sessions will continue until all 121 children will be served.
Challenges
Although the key project activities have been delayed due to lack of funding, our team is continuing to focus on activities that keep engaging beneficiaries in the project and enabling them to develop a sense of project ownership.
Plans for next quarter
Our team will continue to engage with local schools and communities to advocate for inclusive education and build support for the project. As funding becomes available, we will begin providing medical insurance, scholastic materials, continue counseling services, and formal training parents.
Conclusion
Our hope of receiving donations is still alive and we are ready to make a progress and remain in the focus of our project objectives.
