The students harvesting some plants
The students harvesting some plants

Dear fellow-nature-enthusiast,

For the very first time in our project's history, we opened our doors to a group of school students, offering them a unique experience. where they witnessed, firsthand, the captivating process of plant distillation.

Carla, the project coordinator, walked them through the delicate process of harvesting plants from the heart of the Atlantic Rainforest, exchanging knowledge in the art of sustainable forest management - practices that maintain or enhance forest health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services while also supporting the well-being of local communities and we can say by promoting responsible harvesting, reforestation, and conservation, sustainable forest management serves as a vital tool in mitigating climate change, preserving habitats, and fostering a harmonious coexistence between humanity and the natural world.

The youth also could check out all the intricate steps required for distillationIt involves heating the plant material to create steam, which is then cooled and condensed, separating the essential oil from the water. This method captures the pure essence of the plant, preserving its aromatic and therapeutic properties for various applications.

To witness the awe in these young spirits was an experience remarkably satisfying, for us and for them - as they had the chance to be part of the creation of natural cosmetics, all born from the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest.

All of this, thanks to each one of you who believed in our mission and supported us tirelessly. So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making these moments possible. Their enthusiasm, has not only enriched their lives - but also ignited a fervor that inspired them to appreciate and protect our natural environment and that will yield long-term benefits. And we hope you stick around to see it!

Warm regards,

The Iracambi Team

P.S. We see you on Giving Tuesday, November 28th! Your continued support is the catalyst for more incredible moments like these. Stay tuned for a day of global impact and consider joining us as we spread the word about our mission and the magic of the Atlantic Rainforest. Together, we can make a difference!
