Swaziland: Help 50 orphans become future leaders

All of our children at New Hope Centre in Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) came from chaotic and difficult situations. This means that there have been many obstacles to overcome. While there are many things to celebrate there are also many challenges to contend with as they mature toward adulthood.

Here are some of the celebrations: Timothy and Izak both ran in the qualifying heats on track for the one-mile race in the summer International Student Convention in America and did very well.  Timothy, in fact, finish 4^th of all the boys’ times and Izak 13^th.  They represented all of Africa in these races. Hepzibah was nominated for creative essay and poetry writing.  She did not win awards but what an accomplishment to be entered into competition among 27 nations and over 2000 students most of whom were American.  She is an outstanding student and needs to be in a better school with more facilities and better qualified educators than we can provide in Eswatini. We are searching for sponsors who will help her enter a school where she can flourish. Ethan is preparing for the all Africa student convention in October in Bloemfontein South Africa and is hoping to be nominated to represent Africa in 2020 at the International Student Convention in Thailand next year.

Even while our kids prosper in many ways, their backgrounds have not made this easy. Izak, Hildah Moriah and Shamah are struggling with serious learning disabilities and we don’t have facilities or professionals to help. Hildah has been to remedial education for one hour once every two months and has been declared irremediable.  We need advice and volunteers to come help these young people who can do special needs education.

So, we press on to reach for the highest possible destinies for these children and we thank you for walking this process out with us. You are a critical ingredient in our quest and we thank you once again for your compassion and faithfulness.

New Hope Centre

Children, young Adults, sponsors, team members, volunteers came together for the first ever Homecoming celebration on Bethany Mountain on March 28, 2019. We had many joyous events to bind us all together again from the places where we serve.

Since many of you were not able to join us we want to share the experience so that you continue to be drawn in as a part of our New Hope Centre family.

Thursday night began with a Gala Night to honor Israel, the nation through whom the Word of God was written and preserved and through whom our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born and lived, was crucified, buried and resurrected. Hebrew dancing and readings rounded out the night.

Friday included a trip to Mlilwane for a day of fun and games, swimming and hiking through the animal trails. On Saturday we had a time of “waiting upon the Lord” and sharing what we heard. After lunch we took a mission tour of the Manzini area with Bush Travel tours. On Saturday night the Abrahams still living in our home presented a drama full of revelation and understanding of God’s workings in our land.

Sunday morning was a time of worship in our Tabernacle followed by lunch and bidding our farewells until we meet again on Earth or in Heaven.

We know that you were with us in spirit because you support us so faithfully with your love, prayers and provisions year after year. We feel your thoughts and prayers and thank you for being a part of our team.
