TFT Project Report Jun. 2022

By YI LIN CHEN | Senior External Relations Associate

Dear friends,

TFT highly appreciates your generosity and support of our project.

TFT recruits mission-driven and high-potential talents every year to commit to a full-time teaching program in highly disadvantaged schools for at least two years. In the process, TFT fellows are equipped with professional training and comprehensive supportive systems to help them enhance their teaching skills and leadership. In this way, they can more effectively and efficiently enhance rural children’s cognitive and non-cognitive abilities. For these TFT fellows who finish the 2-year fellowship program, TFT will support these alumni to drive collective long-term change in education inequality or other fields. So far TFT has sent 269 TFT fellows to 75 schools to support more than 6000 kids since 2013.

However, TFT fellows also encountered incredibly urgent face-to-face class suspension due to the outbreak of Omicron this year. In this way, TFT not only continuously provides numerous tablets to those in need but also provides resources including guiding websites, and e-learning workshops to empower TFT fellows. We hope that we can rapidly send resources to distant areas so that children can receive the equal right to education to enhance their cognitive and non-cognitive abilities. More specifically, why TFT this year can rapidly respond to meet the needs of children not only give credit to the first line of TFT fellows but also appreciate our supportive sponsors and experience of last year. Currently, TFT has finished the recruitment and selection of 9th cohort TFT fellows. In the next three months, TFT will train these new-coming teaching fellows and send them to highly disadvantaged areas to mitigate education inequality.

All in all, TFT envisions that “One day, all children in Taiwan, regardless of their background, can attain an excellent education and the opportunity of self-development.”For more information on how your donation is helping to make a difference in educational inequity, we invite you to visit our page. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to fulfilling our vision, and we look forward to your continued support.

Best regards,

TFT
