Over the past year your support to our parent project has allowed us to strengthen and grow virtues projects that are ongoing in the world:
Virtues Project Sri Lanka "The Virtues Programme is going very well and the students are participating enthusiastically. Every Tuesday we have two classes performing a Drama or Poem or a Song on the Virtue they picked at the beginning of the year. It is very meaningful and the students are very happy about the presentations. Posters are put on two boards at the entrance to the school so they are seen by all who enter the School. I am deeply grateful to you and the donors as we have gotten new posters printed and they add to the colour and enhance the way the Virtue is depicted. We have added a Virtues Day this Term where all the classes will exhibit their different ways of presenting their Virtue. The Virtue Songs and Power Point Presentations will be shown in the background as the students of the whole School go around viewing the Exhibition. We are happy to announce that we have introduced the Virtues Programme to other schools in our area now too."
Virtues and Community Development for Kenya "In addition to forming and training our community development groups in virtues and self-sufficiency skills, we also formed a youth group comprised of students from nine different universities, opened a community centre, partnered with the university on a farming project, and are in process of partnering with an NGO in a neighboring county to bring The Virtues Project to their community!"
Virtues Project Fiji "This year we created a tool box to enhance training for all sectors of our community. In the beginning, much of the work to share The Virtues Project was done in schools and with parents. Now our facilitators are introducing a simple tool box that will allow for teaching the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project in all sectors of the community providing powerful strategies to address the effects of poverty and abuse."
Water, Supplies and Virtues Kenya Primary School "We are very excited to report that we have very happy students, teachers and parents. Virtues are now being added across the curriculum. Our children are well-behaved, their test scores continue to improve, truancy has dropped dramatically, and parents are now very supportive of education. We have gained the attention of other schools wanting to learn more about virtues and requesting to receive training. We are beginning to provide that training to a nearby school and have plans to train other schools in the coming year."
Ensuring Safety for Children Tanzania Schools "Thanks to your generous support we have begun a virtues training and evaluation program in several communities in Tanzania. This project will help elimiate corporal punishment and improve the learning environment. Upon successful completion of this project, the government will help fund this program in schools.
Your donations also helped to fund a global mentorship in Kenya which helped pay for local facilitators to particpate in the mentorship and connect with other facilitators from around the world.
We thank you for your generosity of giving to Bringing The Virtues Project to the World over the past year. Your donations helped grow all of our projects on GlobalGiving. We also thank you for sharing our reports with family and friends. We sincerely appreciate your continued support. Happy New Year!
