Sponsor a Child in Uganda

As the school year comes to a close, children across the communities where Joy for Children Uganda works have officially broken off for their Third Term and Christmas holiday. This period marks an important time for children to rest after months of learning, examinations, and school activities. Many of them are excited to reunite with their families, spend time with their friends, and take part in end-of-year celebrations.

During this period, Joy for Children Uganda has been engaging parents, caregivers, and community members to ensure that children remain safe, protected, and meaningfully engaged throughout the holiday. With schools closed, children spend more time at home and in the community, which increases their exposure to risks such as child labor, exploitation, early marriages, and other forms of abuse. Through community outreach and awareness messaging, we have continued to remind caregivers to be vigilant and to create supportive environments where children can enjoy their holidays safely.

We have also encouraged parents to keep children involved in positive activities such as reading, simple home responsibilities, and community programs. Many families have expressed appreciation for these reminders, noting that the holiday season can be challenging as children often have plenty of free time and limited structured activities.

As Christmas approaches, children are looking forward to celebrations, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying the festive season. However, for many vulnerable families, this period comes with financial pressure and uncertainty. Joy for Children Uganda continues to stand with these families by sharing information, offering guidance, and linking them to available community support where possible.

The holiday period is not only a time for rest but also an opportunity for families to bond and strengthen relationships. We encourage all caregivers to use this time to talk to their children, understand their needs, and prepare them for the upcoming school year.

We are delighted to share with you the successful completion of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) by the P7 candidates on our sponsorship program, which took place yesterday, 4 November 2025. This marks a big milestone in the educational journey of these young learners, who have worked diligently over the years, overcoming numerous challenges, to reach this important stage.

The achievement of our P7 students is a testament not only to their dedication but also to the support provided by our generous donors. Your contributions have enabled us to provide quality learning materials, mentorship, and an encouraging environment that nurtures both academic growth and personal development. Thanks to your support, these children have had access to the resources and guidance necessary to prepare thoroughly for their examinations.
